Kathina grew up in central Pennsylvania and completed her undergraduate degree from Susquehanna University in 2002. She earned a Master of Science in Sports Administration from McDaniel College, Westminster MD in 2004 where she worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. She then worked as the head athletic trainer at Falls Church High School in Fairfax County, VA. In 2007, she decided to explore a different side of athletic training and moved to Madison, WI where she worked as a physician extender/athletic trainer for UW Health Sports Medicine while also providing sports coverage to a local high school and minor league baseball team. After surviving five long, cold winters in the Midwest, she traded in her snow boots for flip flops and was offered a position as head athletic trainer at Out-of-Door Academy in Sarasota, Fl.
She went on to earn her Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies at Bryant University in March, 2020. Kathina is a board-certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is also a board-certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC). She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Kathina is an avid downhill skier, cyclist and functional fitness enthusiast. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her wife and two children, Ryan and Greyson.
