At OrthoDIRECT, our goal is to provide prompt, high-quality orthopedic care when you need it most. While we do our best to see every patient as quickly as possible, there may be times when we reach capacity. During these busy periods, wait times may be longer than usual, and we may need to prioritize patients based on the urgency of their condition. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to care for everyone as efficiently and safely as possible.

COVID-19

Coronavirus Update:

Our primary goal at University Orthopedics (UOI) is to always protect the health of our patients, physicians, and staff. We are closely following the prevention procedures and preparedness initiatives as put forth by the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH).

Anyone entering a UOI facility, mask wearing in clinical areas will be highly recommended, but no longer mandatory.  This includes all providers, staff, patients, vendors, and visitors in any Rhode Island location. In Massachusetts, the same policy will apply, except for the therapy clinical areas where masks are still required to be worn by staff and vendors, however patients and visitors are not required to wear masks.  This is in accordance with the latest Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations.

We ask that anyone with a scheduled appointment who has traveled in the past 14 days to please call our office to reschedule your appointment or to request a telehealth visit.

The CDC recommends that patients reschedule their appointments if they have any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Chills
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • New loss of taste or smell

*This list is not all inclusive. Please consult your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you.
