COVID-19

Coronavirus Update:

Our primary goal at University Orthopedics (UOI) is to always protect the health of our patients, physicians and staff. Due to the increase in reported cases of individuals with coronavirus, the flu and other respiratory illnesses, University Orthopedics is closely following the prevention procedures and preparedness initiatives as put forth by the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH).

To provide all of our patients, physicians, and staff with the safest environment during this time of uncertainty, we ask that our patients with upcoming appointments attend them without visitors. For our patients under the age of 18 years or having surgery or procedures at our facilities, one accompanying visitor will be allowed. Also please wear a face mask or other protective face covering to your appointment.

We ask that anyone with a scheduled appointment who has traveled in the past 14 days, to please call our office to reschedule your appointment or to request a telehealth visit.

The CDC recommends that patients reschedule their appointments if they have any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Chills
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • New loss of taste or smell

*This list is not all inclusive. Please consult your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you.
