Continuing a tradition more than two decades in the making, University Orthopedics is proud to announce it will once again provide free Fall Sports Pre-Participation Exams for student-athletes of all ages, including those at the collegiate level.
University Orthopedics will host this year’s event at its Kettle Point location in East Providence on August 3, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
As the official orthopedic provider of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and the Eastern Connecticut Conference (ECC), University Orthopedics is keenly aware student-athletes have multiple, specialized needs. That is why - in addition to its more than 60 board-certified, fellowship-trained physicians - University Orthopedics also has a team of experienced physical therapists trained in a wide-array of specialties including, orthopedics; sports medicine; concussion therapy; dance rehabilitation; injury prevention; strength and conditioning; mobility; spine; Schroth method scoliosis treatment; and athletic training at the high school and college levels.
“Being a student-athlete requires a tremendous amount of diligence and sacrifice, not just for the athlete, but their families. It’s our goal, through events like this, to support our local athletes by helping them begin their seasons safely, while also making the back-to-school rush a little easier,” said Physical Therapist Terry Moreno Toste, program coordinator.
Those wishing to participate in the clinic are required to fill out a consent form and a medical history form. For your convenience, you can fill these forms out ahead of time by clicking the below links.
Appointments are not necessary but are recommended for large groups.
