Non-Operative treatment of Dupuytren’s Disease hand and finger flexion contractures

Dr. Edward Akelman has begun using Xiaflex (collagenese) injections as nonoperative treatment of Dupuytren’s contractures. Dr. Akelman was involved in the National CORD I study of Dupuytren’s contractures that was published in the September 2009 New England Jourmal of Medicine which was a national clinical trial continued to study the effects of this prior to FDA approval.
