He is very professional 100%
He was spot on with my elbow issue and made easy for me to understand. This had to the best medical experience I’ve ever had. Not only Dr. Paxton, but the entire staff as well. Happy faces and the system moved in a very quick, easy methodical fashion. Even getting sent to therapy area, they were just as pleasant and informative as well. Needless to say, extremely pleased! 100%

There was some difficulty w/ coverage for pain management when he was away: office communication difficulty pre and post op. 100%
My issue was not with the care of Dr. Paxton at all. What I was absolutely furious about was that I waited 90 minute past the time of my appointment to be seen. My appointment was at 9:30. I was told to be there early to fill out paperwork and have xrays done so I got there at 8:30. I filled out the paperwork and had the xrays done and sat in your waiting room from 9:15 until 11:00 before I was seen. The excuse I was given is that there were some emergency appointments that came in that caused the delay. I understand that can happen but to have me wait almost two hours to be seen is ridiculous. I wasn’t even told the reason for the delay until I asked someone TWICE. If I were the one who was almost two hours late for the appointment would I have been seen? NOPE. And you would have billed me for missing the appointment. So what makes your time so much more valuable than mine? I had to take a day out of work because of this. Maybe I should send YOU a bill for two hours of MY time. Dr. Paxton has a fine reputation and once I saw him I was happy with the outcome. But everything up until that point sucked and because of it I would be very hesitant to recommend University Orthopedics to anyone. Next time, you might want to consider a simple phone call to reschedule the appointment if the doctor is more than a half an hour behind. I’m sticking with Dr. Paxton because he is the best at what he does. But I am totally unimpressed with the way Inwas treated by your company. 90%

Very pleased with Dr. Paxton! 100%
when Dr. Paxton is describing possible approaches to a procedure, he should avoid making his own hand sketches and show a patient actual ex rays or medical artist drawings of how different types of implants will affect the patient. I was able to go on line to get an illustration of my procedure and implant, but it would be helpful to have a clear picture at the initial consultation. 100%
After having to wait for almost an hour in the exam room, The Dr hardly made eye contact with me during our discussion, he asked me a couple of questions and seemed very dismissive of how I was feeling and he made me feel that I was wasting his time, he then told me the office would schedule an MRI for as he was walking out the door, he did not ask if I had any questions nor did he even say goodbye 0%

Very pleased with my treatment by Dr. Paxton and his associate. Also impressed with the office staff and clerical staff. The building in itself is clean and well maintainedI do need to say initially when I called to make an appointment the person I spoke with was a bit brusque with me. As I work in the medical field I found it off putting but I got over it. Thank you to all that made this a “painless” experience! 100%
Dr. Paxton was fantastic! My injury was rare and complicated in fact it required a surgical procedure that dr. Paxton had never performed before. Yet he was willing and eager to offer that option and ended up doing an amazing job on the surgical repair. He only had a total of three case studies with similar injuries and surgical repairs to go on but his results on my seemingly once in a lifetime surgical procedure, couldn't possibly be any better! I am blessed to be one of Dr Paxton's patients and he has and will be forever highly recommended to anyone and everyone I talk to :‐﴿ 90%

My lower ratings on Dr. Paxton had more to do with me than with him I could not process what he was saying at the same rate it was being said, I realized I left with several questions I couldn't think quick enough to ask but will have them in writing for my return visit on Jan. 2nd. Also did not clearly understand the Cortisone shot would take several (9 - 10 hrs.) to "kick in". Lastly, It was 1 hour and 10 min. from my time of arrival to meeting Dr. Paxton, but am fully satisfied with the visit. 90%

I had to wait over one hour my appointment was at 10:30 and when I was about to leave at 11:30 Dr Paxton walked in all I was told by the receptionist is that the doctor will be right in and I still waited half hour and while I was in the room someone shut the light out. I don’t like waiting an hour for an appointment that was scheduled last year. Thank you 100%

I really appreciated he called to get me in earlier given my condition. Excellent follow up 100%

I saw the doctor for about 12 minutes. I felt very rushed. He gave me my cortisone shot and rushed me out. It was extremely difficult to reach someone to set up this appointment. I left several messages before someone finally called me back, only to be told I needed a referral from my primary care doctor even though Dr. Paxton had seen me several times before. It took me over three months to see the doctor.

Dr. Paxton explained everything in a manner that I could understand.  He gave me information about the condition of my rotator cuff which my previous surgeon never said anything.   I've had two previous surgeries as well as infections and picc lines as well as physical therapy with no improvement.   I wish I had gone to Dr. Paxton a year ago.  I'm sure I would be in much better shape.  Although I am somewhat nervous to having surgery again I am confident with Dr. Paxton.  He received a great recommendation from a friend George DiChristofaro who had surgery by Dr. Paxton.  Thank you for this survey.  It makes the patient feel that they matter and that is important.

Dr. Paxton was the 4th doctor I have seen regarding my shoulder plus a physical therapist. I have heard four opinions on what the issue is all different. Even a different opinion on the first doctor who came in at this visit.  I have been told "I think" many times and also the only way to tell is with an MRI. But not one doctor has prescribed one. Instead I am left with "I think" and more physical therapy after 6 month of not knowing what the issue is and having a very limited use of my shoulder. It would be nice to know what the issue is with my shoulder. Sorry to sound discouraged but I am...

I called Doctor Paxton's office on August 29th and left a message asking them to call me. I had a bad time with a cortisone shot and I wanted to talk to them about it but no one ever called me back.I had originally called on August 27 the day of getting my injection and the doctor called me back that night. I was very impressed. I was a little disappointed no one called me back when I called on the 29th. I am still having some inflammation and pain. If someone would like to call me back so I can ask them a couple of questions I would appreciate it. [commented on 9/3/2018 10:15:29 AM Eastern Standard Time]

Had full faith in dr paxton performing the procedure...dad was out of the building as the surgery was completed but i contacted dr paxton through the portal and he said all went well...pain has been surprisingly minimal ..thank you dr paxton... the 2 pre-surgery nurses were awesome.. made me at ease and worked very well with each other..the anesthesiologist was thorough... and your exit nurse was outstanding... very pleased with th procedure and how everything transpired that day... thank you 100%

The two nurses I had I believe their names were Jackie and Denielle were great. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. Dr Paxton was awesome as usual but those 2 nurses made a stressful day great. I actually enjoyed those two they were great I cannot say enough about them

Dr. Paxton as in the past was excellent he easily communicated with me.  My only issue was the excessive wait time.  A staff could have come out and stated he was running about an hour late rather than having me seat there not knowing if they forgot about my appointment

Dr Paxton’s very attentive and extremely helpful.

Would like to have received a more thorough explanation regarding a second surgical option.  I bear some responsibility for this as I was not prepared for a ‘reverse shoulder’ conversation. Follow up appointments are very very brief.

University Orthopedics is my first choice in care and has been for several injuries since 2006. I won't see anyone but Dr. Paxton for my severe tendonitis.

I love dr Paxton. He is always warm and very clear and is interested in what I have to say. So far I have never been disappointed in my visits.  I would absolutely refer him to anyone who needs shoulder work. Unequivocally.

Dr Paxton was very thorough in his examination and explained his recommended process going forward. I feel confident that my condition will be resolved once Dr Paxton has all the test results.

"This was my first visit of which I'm afraid there will be many. He was very professional and took the time to explain as much as he could with the limited information at hand. He ordered an immediate MRI to learn more. My first impression after the visit and reading his background is that he seems quick to respond to the immediate needs regarding the injury and the expertise he presented gave me some confidence. Very early in the game to to say more. I'm hopeful and anticipating a good working relationship and positive outcome." 80%
"After suffering since early 2017 with pain in my arm and shoulder I contacted Dr Paxton who became very proactive searching for answers to my problem. We did an ultra sound guided injection that only lasted a short period of time. Dr Paxton then explained the options that remained and seeing that neither PT nor the injection did the trick that surgery would be the answer. An Answer I knew was coming. I am looking forward to getting all the pre surgery stuff taken care of and then falling asleep (lol) as Dr Paxton fixes me up. I am the second member of my family to see Dr Paxton. My dad being the first and he too was pleased though did not need surgery. Looking forward to June 15th when the healing process will begin...Thank You Dr Paxton and Thank You Dr Akleman..... jim farley." 100%

"I really like Dr. Paxton and find Kettle Point beautiful however it is too far for people coming from Northern Rhode Island. It would be great if you considered having a satellite in this area. North Smithfield would be wonderful. We would love to have quality orthopaedic surgeons in this area!" 100%
