Dr. Shiqiang “Chris” Tian is a University Orthopedics physician specialized in treating headache, spinal, musculoskeletal, post-surgical, neuropathic, cancer, and visceral pain.
An experienced physician with in-depth knowledge of pain management approaches, Dr. Tian helps patients return to their everyday tasks by performing innovative procedures. Through his rigorous training, Dr. Tian is able to perform advanced pain management solutions such as epidural steroid injection, radiofrequency nerve ablation, spinal cord stimulation, intra-thecal drug delivery system, and vertebral augmentation.
A graduate from the Shandong University School of Medicine in Jinan, China, Dr. Tian completed general surgery-physical medicine residencies at both the Allegheny Health Network Medical Education Consortium in Pittsburgh, Pa., and the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Ks., that is followed by an ACGME-accredited fellowship training in pain medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wi.
Dr. Tian is certified to practice pain medicine by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Before moving to the United States in 2004, Dr. Tian trained as a neurosurgeon for 10 years in Beijing, China.
