At OrthoDIRECT, our goal is to provide prompt, high-quality orthopedic care when you need it most. While we do our best to see every patient as quickly as possible, there may be times when we reach capacity. Sarah Abood, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner nationally accredited by The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She works alongside Dr. Matthew Akelman and treats conditions from hand-to-shoulder. She interacts with patients in the office and assists in the operating room.
Sarah is a native Rhode Islander. She attended the University of Rhode Island, where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, and wasinducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Prior to joining University Orthopedics, Sarah brings over 7 years of nursing experience from her time working in comprehensive stroke care, cardiac surgery, and neonatal intensive care.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys baking, running, and traveling throughout New England. Sarah spends time with her loved ones, including her rescue animals.
