Physician Assistant

Gabrielle Fernandes PA-C works as a Physician Assistant in the OrthoDirect Division of University Orthopedics. She works closely with various sports medicine physicians including Dr. Philip Salko, Dr. David Bica and Dr. Andrew Chen. Gabrielle treats patients with a wide range of acute orthopedic issues with a special interest in sports-related injuries. She is a board-certified Physician Assistant through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Gabrielle was born and raised in Rhode Island. She attended Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts where she earned her undergraduate degree of Bachelor of Science while playing for the Springfield College Women’s Soccer Team. She then continued on at Springfield College to complete her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She is also an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and Rhode Island Academy of Physician Assistants (RIAPA). Gabrielle joined University Orthopedics in 2022.
