Anita Tzovolos, NP

Nurse Practitioner

Anita Tzovolos is a board-certified nurse practitioner with dual certification in pediatric and family medicine. She specializes in the evaluation and management of sports-related injuries, with focus on the shoulder and knee. Anita works with Brett D. Owens, MD in the Division of Sports Medicine at the Kettle Point office, assisting in the clinic with all aspects of patient care. Anita completes initial patient evaluations, orders and interprets diagnostic imaging, performs office procedures such as aspirations and injections, and provides pre and post-operative care. She also treats patients with urgent orthopedic concerns at Ortho Direct West.  

Anita completed her undergraduate degree in biology with summa cum laude distinction from Rhode Island College in 2001, where she was captain of the gymnastics team and achieved All-American honors. She earned a Master of Science in nursing from MGH Institute of Health Professions and was elected into the honor society of nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International. She also holds a Master of Science in physical education and maintains certification as an athletic trainer, providing on-field injury care to young athletes.  

Anita joined University Orthopedics in 2016 and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She can be reached at 401-330-1434.
