Julia Wood has her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) She works with Dr. Smith in the evaluation and conservative treatment of acute and chronic neuromusculoskeletal conditions such as injuries due to work, sports, trauma and repetitive motion
Julia grew up in northern Rhode Island and received her undergraduate degree in communications from Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg MA. She then completed her nursing degree at St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Providence, RI. She then completed her Doctorate in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island, specializing in Adult- Gerontology.
She is certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Alliance of Rhode Island (NPARI) as well as the American Nurses Association/ Rhode Island State Nurses Association.
Prior to joining University Orthopedics in 2018, Julia has over 10 years of clinical practice experience in Orthopedics, Pain Management, Primary Prevention / Health Promotion, and Clinical Research.
