Dr. Belanger received a bachelor degree in Engineering as well as his MD from the University of Vermont. He completed his General Surgery Internship, Orthopaedic Residency and Trauma Fellowship at Brown University and a Sports Medicine Fellowship with Dr. William Grana at the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Belanger is a Clinical Assistant Instructor for the Department of Orthopaedics, at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is a member of the United States Ski and Snowboard Association Team Physician Pool. Dr. Belanger is a Fellow of The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery; member of The Rhode Island Orthopaedic Society; and board certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also a member of The Arthroscopy Association of North America, and The AO North America. Dr. Belanger has practiced at The Center for Orthopaedics since 2005.
On the personal side, Dr. Belanger and his wife Christine Emmick MD, a General Surgeon in Rhode Island, reside in Northern Rhode Island with three children. In his free time, Dr. Belanger enjoys snow and water skiing, boating and is an active youth soccer coach for his children.
