Dr. Braidy Shambaugh is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship-trained in sports medicine. She specializes in treating conditions of the shoulder, hip, and knee joints.

Payton graduated from New England Institute of Technology with a Family Nurse Practitioner degree. Prior to becoming an NP Payton worked as a registered nurse in the emergency department of a level 1 trauma center in central Massachusetts. Payton discovered her love for orthopedics through her role in the Trauma bay learning about different complex injuries. In her free time, she enjoys pouring into her community by teaching Sunday school and leading a high school youth group. She loves snowboarding, target shooting, weightlifting, competing in different athletic events, races and challenges with friends and participating in an annual Tough Ruck.
Masters in Nursing
University Orthopedics in Providence, Rhode Island, is a regional referral center for patients with back and neck pain, joint pain, sports medicine problems, shoulder pain, hand problems, hip and knee pain, and foot and ankle injury. University Orthopedics utilizes fellowship-trained, sub-specialized physicians to treat a variety of orthopedic problems.
