Physician Assistant

Luis Pereira is a physician assistant (PA) specializing in acute and chronic conditions of the spine while working collaboratively with Bassel Diebo, MD. He completes the initial patient evaluation, orders and interprets diagnostic imaging, prescribes medications, and provides pre and post-operative care. He works independently seeing patients in clinic and assists Dr. Diebo in the operating room. Luis is bilingual in Portuguese and sees patients at the East Providence, East Greenwich, and Cumberland offices.

Luis is a native Rhode Islander. He grew up in Cumberland and completed his undergraduate studies at Rhode Island College. He earned his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Saint Joseph and is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Before his career as a PA, Luis worked as a radiologic technologist in operative and non-operative orthopedic spine cases. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, golfing, and winemaking.
